On my land I have created a species-rich nature park with agricultural islands, whose inhabitants and visitors treat the resources of nature with care. People, animals and plants meet here with respect.
Sicilian olive oil is one of the best olive oils in the world. A long tradition in the care of olive trees, harvesting and pressing makes it very special. I attach the greatest importance to the quality of the oil and to a careful and respectful management of the olive groves. In May 2021 my oil received the organic certificate. I am very proud of it.
The approximately 500 olive trees were planted after the abandonment of viticulture 50 to 70 years ago in steep terrain terraced with dry stone walls. The olive varieties represented are mainly Brandofino (Randazzese), Nocellara Etnea and San Benedetto, which are indigenous to Etna, and, to a lesser extent, Coratina, Frantoia and Nostrale, which come from the mainland.
The incomparable smell of this black-brown, sandy-stony earth.
Lava fields, yellow blooming fragrant broom, origano, gnarled oaks, dry leaves rustling in the wind, bees concert in flowering chestnut trees.
Breathtaking beauty and dark terror, close together.
And wherever I stand:
Etna points to the sky.
One understands - nothing is here for eternity.

ACCOMODATION
On my land, with breathtaking views of Mont Etna, there is a wine press cottage, lovingly restored, which welcomes visitors who appreciate the respectful treatment of nature and its resources.
A campsite surrounded by unspoiled nature directly at the foot of Mount Etna is available to nature-loving camping enthusiasts and caravan owners.
DOGS ARE WELCOME
Guests with dogs are welcome. Out of consideration for all my guests dogs are not allowed in the house. The dogs are allowed to stay in the large front garden or in the directly adjacent 400m2 large, escape-proof and fenced area. This part of the garden is at the sole disposal of your four-legged friends. In the shade of olive trees and in an earth-cool concrete shelter, even the summer heat can be well endured. Between the olive trees two wooden boxes of 4 m2 each protect your dog from wind and weather. Do you prefer to leave your dog "at home" during an excursion? I will be happy to take care of him.
ACTIVITIES
You want to get to know Mount Etna and the region around Europe's largest active volcano in a very individual way? As a geologist and nature lover, I show my guests my very personal highlights. Untouched landscapes, bizarre lava formations, magnificent views, paired with well-founded information about the volcano and its geology and flora and fauna.
